Position Summary Blue Pencil Collective is seeking a Minnesota-licensed Principal Architect to join our leadership team and help shape the future of the firm. This opportunity is designed for an experienced architect who wants more than project management and project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead architectural design and project delivery across residential and commercial projects Cultivate and strengthen client relationships Drive business development and market growth initiatives Mentor and develop emerging design professionals Collaborate closely with interior design and procurement teams Help shape firm strategy, vision, and operational excellence Support profitability, process improvement, and practice growth Represent Blue Pencil Collective within the design and business communities Contribute to leadership-level decision making and long-term planning Qualifications Required: Licensed Architect (RA) in Minnesota 10+ years of architectural experience Proven experience leading architectural projects and teams Strong client relationship and communication skills Experience in residential and/or commercial architecture Ability to balance design excellence with business objectives Preferred: Experience in firm leadership, studio leadership, or practice management Business development and client acquisition experience Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in ownership Experience working within multidisciplinary design environments What We Offer Leadership role with significant influence on firm direction Competitive compensation Performance-based growth opportunities Pathway to partnership and equity ownership Opportunity to help build a next-generation architecture and design practice Location & Travel Minnesota-based or remote Candidates must be licensed in Minnesota Why This Role Is Different Most architecture firms are hiring for a position.
