The Shipping Department Material Handler is responsible for operating a Hi-Lo as a means of moving product in a safe and efficient manner. Material handlers must deal with the stress of managing multiple tasks at once, and prioritizing tasks based on the situation at hand. They may be asked to perform multiple roles depending on what is necessary on any given day. Their greatest skill is having the ability to understand the safety/product/quality and relate this to the team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Support, demonstrate and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus and innovation.
• Ensure safe handling and movement of all products. All material handling should be performed with the focus on SAFE as well as secure handling of the product in order to avoid damage.
• Monitor and communicate accurate inventory control within the warehouse.
• Load/Unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Perform periodic audits of stored materials for quality compliance. This also pertains to material that is being loaded and shipped to customers.
• Process all shipping and receiving documentation and records.
• Maintain a current and valid Hi-Lo license. It is required that you pass the test within your first day of work.
• Working primarily at our outside warehouse facility but may be required to assist with operations at our main facility.
• Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment. Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members. Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilize scheduling, inventory, and production management systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Self-starter with a sense of urgency and initiative.
• Willingness to learn and be adaptable to change in a growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use a tape measure and compute simple math problems.
• Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Position Type

• Full time
• Shift work (M-F, 8 hour shifts)
• Overtime expected per business demand.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.
• 3-5 years HiLo experience
