Mechanical Project Engineer

If you want to be part of something bigger than a just a job – make this career move and apply today!Responsibilities:Reviewing project drawings and specifications.Coordinate with contractors, architects and engineers.Monitor technical progress on site.Ensure work follows plans, codes and safety requirements.Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned work; monitors work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted practices, and Sagamore standards; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied.Expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.Project schedules and forecasts.Coordination oversightMaintain a project delivery scheduleProvide weekly project status reports.Create and write change orders and RFI's.Attend weekly onsite meetings including subcontractor coordination meeting, owner/architect meeting, and provide follow up meeting minutes packages to the Project Manager and ForemanAssist the Project Manager in pre-construction meetings and site visits with the owner/client to discuss and meet project requirements in order to establish project work plan and deadlines.Responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the closeout process including but not limited to develop and maintain the closeout log, complete operation and maintenance manuals, and maintain punch lists.Perform other related duties as assigned.Skill, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:Educational and experience requirements include: a minimum of 2 years of experience in construction with an emphasis on Plumbing and HVAC. General knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); Company policies, procedures, and standards; and scope of work, labor schedules. Occasionally requires passenger use of construction personnel hoists. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job regularly requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear and stand.
