Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a master's degree, CCC-SLP certification, and a minimum of 3 years of experience for a 13-week assignment in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Valid and active Speech-Language Pathology license required (license required if applicable)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an SLP
  • BLS/BCLS certification required
  • Prior experience in a long-term care or SNF setting preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; loads above 50 lbs require a two-person lift
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Additional Information
  • Evaluates residents and establishes individualized therapeutic plans of care with functional short- and long-term goals
  • Provides treatment for communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow studies
  • Monitors treatment progress and modifies plans of care as clinically indicated
  • Recommends and assists in obtaining appropriate communication and swallowing assistive devices
  • Consults with referring physicians and interdisciplinary care team members regarding therapeutic and discharge planning needs
  • Documents all evaluative and therapeutic interactions in a clear, accessible manner for the care team
  • Provides education to residents and caregivers, with documented responses to teaching
  • Delivers in-services on clinical topics to nursing and other departments
  • Maintains familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable reimbursement regulations
  • Supports the development of new speech therapy programs and services
  • Upholds department cleanliness and infection control standards
