Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Technician

This role focuses on performing routine production assembly operations on electrical and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems equipment and accessories in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The technician follows established production standards, contributes to continuous improvement within the manufacturing team, and engages in ongoing learning to maintain a thorough understanding of assembly processes and compliance requirements. The position is fully onsite and requires flexibility to work any shift and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine production assembly operations on electrical and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, aircraft systems equipment, and accessories using manual operations and production industry standards.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical systems, including wire harnesses, boxes, and circuit breaker assemblies, in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and specifications, including blueprints, schematics, change memos, and program directives, to ensure accurate assembly and configuration.
• Work independently to develop, modify, and document actions that ensure problem resolution and implement corrective and preventive actions to support product quality and reliability.
• Engage in ongoing learning to build and maintain the necessary knowledge and skills, developing a substantial and thorough understanding of the job and related manufacturing processes.
• Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity by following established practices, procedures, and standard work instructions.
• Follow general supervision, applying basic instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new lines of work or special assignments, while selecting from well-established options to complete tasks.
• Adhere to all compliance requirements in a highly regulated environment, ensuring conformance and reproducibility of materials, equipment, technology, and processes.
• Apply complete knowledge of shop processes, including Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, proper material handling, safety procedures, calibration requirements, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls.
• Use specialized tools such as electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, multimeters, and computer-based resources to perform assembly, testing, and documentation tasks.
• Differentiate production manufacturing processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements, and participate in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology, and processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including any modifications, corrective actions, and preventive actions, to support traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Support continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing team by demonstrating a strong commitment to growth, professionalism, and development.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in the subassembly plant, helping to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Approximately 1 or more years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications, including blueprint and schematic reading and specification changes.
• Approximately 1 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment where compliance with standards and procedures is critical.
• Experience with fabrication and assembly of mechanical or electrical systems utilizing production industry standards.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift in a fully onsite role.
• Proficiency in electrical assembly and mechanical assembly in a production setting.
• Ability to follow established practices, procedures, and standard work instructions to solve routine problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Education and experience typically acquired through basic education (High School Diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as vocational school or an Associate degree.
• At least 1 year of experience working with specialized tools such as electrical and mechanical wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, multimeters, and computer-based file access tools.
• Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities, and data needed for defining delivery configurations, including design definitions, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams, schematics, functional tests, and supplier data.
• Ability to differentiate production manufacturing processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.
• Experience participating in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology, and processes to ensure conformance and reproducibility.
• Complete knowledge of shop processes, including Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, proper material handling, safety protocols, calibration requirements, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Strong commitment to professional growth, learning, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing team environment.

Work Environment

This role is based 100% onsite in a subassembly plant focused on electrical components, including building wire harnesses, boxes, and circuit breaker assemblies. You will work with specialized electrical and mechanical tools such as wire crimpers and strippers, wire routing tools, multimeters, and computer-based systems for accessing engineering data. The environment is highly regulated, with strong emphasis on safety, FOD prevention, ESD controls, material handling standards, and calibration requirements. Work is performed on the production floor following established procedures and standard work instructions. Candidates must be willing to work any shift and either live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense, as relocation assistance is not provided.

Pay and Benefits
