Measurement & Cutting: Accurately measure and cut materials (carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood) to fit. Installation: Apply adhesive, nails, or staples; install padding, trim, and flooring according to design and manufacturer specs. Finishing: Fill joints, apply sealants, and trim excess material for a seamless look. Maintenance/Repair: Perform repairs on existing floors as needed. Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean worksite and follow safety protocols. Essential Skills & Qualifications Experience: Proven experience in installing specific flooring types (vinyl, tile, carpet). Technical Skills: Knowledge of materials, tools (cutters, stretchers, hand tools), and blueprint reading. Physical Abilities: Strength to lift heavy materials, stamina for bending and standing. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, good math/measurement skills, time management, and communication. Education: High school diploma often required; vocational training preferred. Work Environment Physical: Demanding, involves lifting, bending, and working with various chemicals/adhesives. Settings: Residential homes, commercial buildings (offices, restaurants).
