RN or LPN Coordinator - Full Time - Pavilion Skilled Health Care Center

(Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm)

SUMMARY

Responsible for supervising nursing staff on a designated shift and area of facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Monitor and direct medical care and assistance to all residents in the healthcare facility.

Supervise activities and performance functions of nursing staff on duty.

Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with government regulatory policies and procedures.

Ensure adequate staffing for designated shift.

Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.

Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of residents.

Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.

Observes resident's significant conditions and reactions and notifies supervisor or Physician of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.

Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.

Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned residents.

Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or facility policy including resident and family instruction.

Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.

Document in MatrixCare via kiosk every shift.

Must interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and moral.

Qualifications/Experience

Directly supervises 20-25 employees in the Nursing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Schedule

One Full-Time position available, Day Shift Hours 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some additional hours in the evenings, weekends and holidays may be required to meet the business demands of the position.
