Qualifications:

-Valid Virginia Special Education teaching license or eligibility required
-Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
-Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
-Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs), accommodations, and specialized instruction
-Ability to effectively co-teach and collaborate with general education teachers
-Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
-Compassionate, patient, and student-focused approach to education

Schedule:

-Full-time position for the entire school year
-School-based position in Warrenton, Virginia
-Combination of general education co-teaching and self-contained special education instruction

Responsibilities:

-Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities
-Co-teach with a general education teacher in an inclusive classroom setting
-Teach the same subject area in a self-contained special education classroom
-Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
-Adapt curriculum, lessons, and assessments to meet individual student needs
-Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, families, and related service providers
-Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records
-Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
-Use evidence-based teaching strategies to promote academic and social-emotional growth
