The UCLA Luskin Conference Center is seeking a customer-focused, dynamic Bell Attendant to deliver exceptional service to our guests and visitors. As the primary point of contact upon arrival and departure, you will set the tone for a world-class hospitality experience on the UCLA campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Welcome & Escort: Warmly greet arriving guests, open doors, and escort visitors to their rooms. Transport guest luggage to and from rooms and designated storage areas.

• Room & Property Orientation: Identify and explain specific room features to guests. Provide comprehensive information regarding center amenities, services, hours of operation, and local Los Angeles attractions or campus activities.

• Concierge & Logistics Support: Supply clear directions, communicate parking procedures and rates, and arrange transportation (taxis, shuttles, ride-shares), including recording advance travel requests.

• Luggage Management: Handle luggage storage, tag items accurately, and manage prompt retrieval upon request.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Customer service experience (Required)
• 1+ years Front desk or bell attendant experience in a hotel environment (Preferred)
• Excellent customer relations skills (Required)
• Ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner (Required)
• Ability to remain calm in the face of adversity, such as customer dissatisfaction (Required)
• Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and friendly and professional demeanor (Required)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating workload (Required)
• Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a team (Required)
• Ability to sufficiently communicate in written and verbal English to receive work assignments and share information with supervisors, colleagues, and guests (Required)
• Ability to comply with safety standards and procedures for both personal and public safety (Required)
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance (Required)
• Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
• Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
• Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
• Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
• Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
• Must be available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on departmental needs (Required)
• Drive University vehicles, such as electric carts and vans (Required)
