Charge Nurse (RN) - Med Surg - $44-65 per hour

Job Title Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) – Care Team Leader (CTL) Location East Madison Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin Employment Type Staff – Ongoing – 75% full-time equivalent. 12‑hour evening/night shifts, two in six weekend and holiday rotation. Shift differential applies: $4/hour evening, $5/hour night, $4.25/hour weekend. Compensation Base salary plus shift differentials as above, with potential for overtime. Responsibilities Serve as a front‑line leader on an inpatient medical-surgical unit. Mentor nurses to enhance knowledge and skills. Monitor nursing quality metrics and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with management on unit hiring and patient‑experience rounding. Optimize patient and staff outcomes through resource utilization and distribution of patient‑care assignments. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in nursing (preferred). Minimum two years’ experience in an inpatient unit (required). Combined work and leadership experience may substitute for these requirements. Three years’ experience in an acute‑care inpatient unit (preferred). Relevant RN experience with the department‑specific patient population (preferred). Licenses & Certifications Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or equivalent (required). Current CPR/BLS certification (required). Acute Care Labor & Delivery (ACLS) certification within 180 days (required). National certification in a relevant specialty (preferred). Benefits Health and dental insurance.
