Job Title: Park Maintenance Worker – Part Time
Location: Carmichael / Arden-Arcade
Schedule: Part Time: Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Availability: Must be highly reliable to work weekends

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Park Maintenance Worker to support the daily upkeep of parks and recreational facilities throughout the Carmichael and Arden/Arcade areas. This position plays a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces.

This is largely an independent role, where you will be assigned daily tasks via work orders and operate a District vehicle. Weekend availability is critical, as these are the busiest days for park usage.

Key Responsibilities
• Patrol parks and empty trash receptacles regularly
• Replace trash liners and maintain cleanliness throughout park areas
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds
• Unlock and secure park facilities, including restrooms and gates
• Inform patrons of park hours and politely enforce closing times at dusk
• Communicate with security and local authorities when necessary
• Perform landscape maintenance including weed eating and blowing walkways
• Identify hazards and secure areas using caution tape as needed
• Provide excellent customer service by informing patrons of park rules
• Assist recreation staff with various requests and support duties
• Complete additional assignments from the Parks Superintendent as needed

Work Environment
• Work is primarily performed independently in outdoor park settings
• Daily direction provided through work orders from the Facilities Lead Worker
• Use of a District vehicle for transportation between sites

Requirements
• Valid CDL required
• Must be able to pass background screening (no felony convictions; position works around children)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shift
• Must be licensed and insurable to operate a District vehicle
• Strong reliability and ability to work weekends consistently
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
