This is a physically active role in a heavy industrial environment requiring teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate steel production equipment and machinery safely and efficientlyLoad, unload, and transport steel materials (coils, bars, sheets, structural components)Perform quality inspections using measuring devices and toolsFollow production schedules, work instructions, and safety proceduresAssist with machine setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenanceMaintain a clean and organized work areaWork collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goalsCollaborate with all levels on 5S projects throughout the plantQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrior manufacturing or industrial experience preferred, but not requiredWillingness to complete company-paid training programsStrong work ethic and commitment to workplace safetyAbility to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as neededPhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs regularlyStand and move for extended periodsWork in a loud industrial environment – hot in the summer and cold in the winterWear required PPE at all timesUniversal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
