Accounts Receivable Specialist

We're seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist with experience in accounts receivable, collections, inventory management, and general accounting duties. In this role, you'll support our accounting department with bookkeeping, data entry, inventory planning, financial reporting, and more. While we're a small company (about 23 people), our operations mirror those of larger businesses, so experience interacting with commercial customers and accounting teams is a plus. This position offers a private office space, close collaboration with our comptroller and vice president, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a close-knit team. We're open to candidates with specific experience in accounts receivable and collections, as well as generalists in accounting and administrative work. The right person will excel at multi-tasking, understand the dynamics of a small manufacturing environment, and bring a positive, cooperative attitude. Experience in a manufacturing front office or related industry is preferred. Full-time: Monday-Friday, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Flexible arrangements available for the right candidate (e.g., to accommodate school or other commitments) Key Responsibilities Review receivable reports and contact overdue customers. Process credit checks and communicate regarding credit terms. Perform general bookkeeping and accounting. Assist with Amazon SellerCentral order processing and bookkeeping. Use Chempax ERP system to prepare various accounting reports. Organize files and accounting records. Depending on experience, qualified candidates could also be involved in more advanced accounting and reporting functions. Perform special projects as requested. Maintain clean and safe work environment; follow safety procedures. Maintain confidentiality of company files and procedures. Skills and Qualifications Knowledge of standard business software, including MS Office (especially Excel). College or associate's degree in accounting or a related field is a plus but not required – strong work experience can demonstrate competency. Excellent attention to detail. Proficient typing and computer skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others. Experience with Chempax software or similar ERP systems is a plus. Familiarity with graphics, safety data sheets, and labels is advantageous (though not core to the role). Other Requirements Ability to occasionally lift small parcels (15-25 lbs); requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Pre-employment screening required. Competitive hourly rate: $19-25/hour, based on experience and qualifications. Full-time employment (40 hours/week).
