Mechanical Engineer

Location: Burnsville, MN (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/2 remote) About the Opportunity We're partnering with a global manufacturer that designs innovative professional audio, communications, and critical communications products used across commercial, public safety, and enterprise environments. This is an opportunity to join an experienced engineering team developing products from concept through production in a collaborative, technology-driven environment. What You'll Do: Lead the mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical products from concept through production Design components including enclosures, housings, headsets, speaker systems, mounting hardware, and related accessories Develop 3D models, production drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks Build prototypes, perform testing, and drive product improvements through design verification and validation Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T reviews, FMEA, and structural, thermal, and airflow analysis Collaborate with electrical, acoustic, manufacturing, supply chain, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule Support manufacturing, engineering change orders (ECOs), regulatory compliance, and continuous product improvements What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 7+ years of mechanical product design experience SolidWorks experience (Pro/E or AutoCAD is a plus) Experience designing injection-molded plastic, sheet metal, and electro-mechanical assemblies Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, prototyping, and design verification Experience creating BOMs, engineering drawings, and supporting manufacturing Familiarity with regulatory standards such as UL or FAA is a plus Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple engineering projects Why Consider This Role: Opportunity to work on innovative hardware products used around the world Highly collaborative engineering environment Long-term career growth with a global organization focused on product innovation and engineering excellence #J-18808-Ljbffr Wellington Steele & Associates, Inc.
