Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role requires the ability to work independently while demonstrating awareness of various patient needs and clinical situations.

Practices according to the established nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.

Addresses the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in line with their level of practice.

Administers medications and treatments per protocols; monitors patients for side effects and treatment effectiveness.

Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately and timely.

Identifies learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Assists in the management of clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Active RN License in the state of employment or a compact state license.

This position requires a commitment to work five days a week, eight hours a day. Weekend shifts include on-call requirements, specifically two weekend call shifts per month and one additional call night per week.

Floating to other departments within Surgical Services is required as part of this role. The Endoscopy RN is expected to meet the competencies associated with leadership roles in nursing.
