Customer Service Specialist

Customer Service Specialist LHH is seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist to provide responsive and professional support to a diverse customer base. This individual will handle inquiries across multiple communication channels, explain service and account information, resolve customer concerns, and coordinate with internal departments to deliver timely solutions. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex customer situations in a fast-paced environment. This position may also assist with training new team members and supporting special projects. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $19 and $20/hr. Job Responsibilities Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally in accordance with established procedures. Respond to customer inquiries received by phone, email, online platforms, and other communication channels. Assist with service changes, billing questions, payments, new account setup, cancellations, and general account concerns. Identify the reasons customers are considering cancellation and provide appropriate retention solutions. Explain available service options, pricing, billing details, and applicable account terms. Investigate customer concerns, determine the underlying issue, and communicate clear resolutions. Process payments and assist customers with online account and payment tools. Partner with other departments to resolve service or account-related issues. Accurately document customer interactions, account updates, and resolution details. Create work orders, service requests, and other required account records. Make account adjustments according to established authorization and approval procedures. Assist with training and reviewing the work of newly hired customer service representatives. Complete data-entry assignments and special projects accurately within established deadlines. Maintain customer confidentiality and comply with data security and information integrity policies. Follow applicable safety requirements, company procedures, and regulatory standards. Maintain professional and respectful relationships with customers, coworkers, and management. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service, data-entry, and general office skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to manage a high volume of calls efficiently and professionally. Strong organization, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities. Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify root causes, make sound decisions, and recommend practical solutions. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a structured call-center environment. Ability to remain professional under pressure and respond respectfully to challenging situations. Reliable attendance and ability to follow a defined schedule with established break periods. Availability for occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays as business needs require. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are preferred. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is preferred. Two or more years of call-center or customer service experience preferred. Strong typing skills, with the ability to type approximately 40 words per minute accurately. Ability to train and support employees in a one-on-one setting. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to satisfy applicable pre-employment screening requirements. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
