POSITION: Manager, Financial ReportingCOMPENSATION: Pursuant to Colorado regulations, if this job is performed in Colorado, the salary range is $100,000 - $150,000 plus bonus potential. We offer a 401(k) retirement plan, student loan assistance, licensing and continuing education reimbursement, parental leave, and housing allowances or gifts.REPORTS TO: Corporate ControllerSUMMARYThis position works out of our Corporate Office in Denver, CO with an option for remote or hybrid office/work from home flexibility. As a Financial Reporting Manager, you are responsible for maintaining the overall integrity of financial records for the company’s corporate-level entities. This position offers the opportunity to work with a growing company that encourages collaboration across several professional Teams in the areas of Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Design, Development, and Project Management.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to):Prepares and reviews monthly income statements, balance sheet reports, and supporting documentation for multiple entitiesMaintains quality control of bookkeeping of a third party accounting firmFacilitate account tree and chart of account maintenance.Assists in year-end activities, including audit and tax return preparation.Assist with and reviews overhead allocations, and bonus workbooksResponding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting dataAssist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management and accounting.Facilitate communication amongst multiple Cardinal departments to create excellent working relationships and to ensure proper bookkeeping setup and timely collections.Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Corporate Controller, and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requestsMaintains financial security by establishing and maintaining internal controls.Protects the organization's value by keeping the information confidential.Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.Participates in Cardinal U training as required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required3-5 years of public accounting experience preferred 4-6 years of general ledger accounting experience; property management and real estate experience preferredProven 2-3 years of supervisory and leadership experienceWorking knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and their proper application within the property management and real estate industriesExpertise with common technical accounting skills and accounting concepts, including but not limited to Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, General Ledger Analysis, Accrual Basis, Cash Basis, Operating Expenditures, and Capital Expenditures Strong interpersonal, and supervisory skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication skillsDeadline-oriented and an ability to stick to time constraintsAdvanced proficiency in Excel, including reference formulas, pivot tables, and other higher-level financial and statistical formulasStrong working knowledge of Word and AdobeExceptional attention to detailStrong working knowledge of accounting information systems; Yardi Voyager experience preferredAbility to read, analyze, articulate and compile financial reports used for business correspondenceHighly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and balance competing prioritiesWillingness to assist with additional tasks if/when the need arisesAbility to embody the Cardinal Culture and Cardinal Core Values every dayWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
