Job Summary

A family-owned company in the Irondale area is looking for a Purchasing Agent ! This company has been in business for over 100 years. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry . This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in purchasing, supply chain management, and vendor relations within a fast-paced environment. The agent will support the purchasing team in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our HVAC operations.

• Assist in Procurement Processes : Support the purchasing team in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting HVAC materials and equipment.
• Order Management : Help create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of products and services.
• Vendor Communication : Assist in maintaining effective communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any discrepancies.
• Inventory Control : Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the team to maintain optimal stock levels of HVAC components.
• Data Management : Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements in the company’s procurement system.
• Compliance : Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as sales and finance, to align purchasing strategies with the overall company budget and current market demands.

• FULL TIME ; Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm
• $20-22hr

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or a related field a plus but not required.
• Knowledge : Basic understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and the HVAC industry is preferred but not required.
• Skills :
  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Proficiency in Intermediate Excel skills a must.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Experience : Previous internship or coursework related to purchasing, supply chain, or HVAC is a plus but not required.
