POSITION SUMMARY
The Expeditor is responsible for monitoring the status of open production orders and ensuring that materials,
components, and jobs move through the production floor without unnecessary delay. The right person is persistent,
detail-oriented, and understands that their job is to remove obstacles before they become missed deliveries.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor open work orders across all production departments to identify jobs at risk of missing their scheduled
ship date
• Work with department leads to ensure workloads progress on schedule and customer ship dates stay achievable
and realistic
• Communicate with Schedulers and Managers on all potential delays, bottlenecks, or resource constraints
affecting delivery
• Support clear interdepartmental communication across production, purchasing, and engineering to strengthen
coordination of overall operations
• Track material availability for open orders; coordinate with purchasing and receiving to expedite critical inbound
materials as needed
• Physically walk the production floor to verify job location, WIP status, and hold conditions affecting on-time
delivery
• Review drawings and specifications as needed; define correct materials, tooling, and quantities required for jobs
and document the production process
• Evaluate and implement ways to increase efficiency of new and existing jobs in coordination with scheduling and
operations leadership
• Maintain accurate order status records in current and future ERP systems; update estimated completion dates
based on actual production floor conditions
• Identify recurring expediting patterns and surface root causes to operations and scheduling leadership for
permanent resolution
• Perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with Tongrun's safety policies, and in accordance with the
Tongrun International Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards
WHAT YOU BRING
• 2 or more years of expediting, production control, or scheduling support experience in a manufacturing
environment
• Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications Exp
• Familiarity with manually tracking jobs in Excel and/or ERP job tracking systems; JobBoss experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and persistent follow-through without damaging working relationships on the floor
• Demonstrated comfort working interchangeably on the shop floor and in an office setting throughout the workday
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for order tracking and status reporting
• Ability to organize your own workload and set your own daily priorities without close supervision, staying positive
and reactive as priorities shift and treating team members and supervisors with patience and courtesy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to safely handle and lift parts, materials, or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds as required by
inspection, audit, or operational support activities.
• Must be able to stand and walk on the shop floor for extended periods as inspection, audit, and production
support activities require throughout the workday.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as required when conducting work or inspections at production work
centers across the facility.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements including operating measuring instruments
and using computer equipment throughout the workday.
• May be required to move materials, parts, or fixtures using a pallet jack or with the assistance of production
personnel as operational needs arise.
• May be required to assist other team members with quality-related or operational tasks within reasonable
physical exertion limits as production needs require
