Bopat Electric is hiring experienced Journeyman Service Electricians who can independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial electrical systems. We're looking for licensed electricians with strong commercial service experience who are comfortable managing service calls from diagnosis through completion, communicating directly with customers, and solving electrical problems independently in the field.

No two days are the same. You may start your morning troubleshooting a power outage, replace a three-phase panel in the afternoon, and finish your day performing preventative maintenance on critical electrical equipment.

On any given day you may:

• Respond to commercial service calls at customer locations.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures and determine the root cause.
• Repair or replace panels, breakers, lighting, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
• Install new electrical equipment and perform system upgrades.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled electrical inspections.
• Read blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Communicate directly with customers and explain findings and recommended solutions.
• Complete service documentation accurately and professionally.
• Travel throughout Maryland and surrounding areas, with occasional overnight travel opportunities on select projects.

• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond to commercial service calls and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving panels, breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, lighting, and power distribution systems.
• Install, replace, and upgrade commercial electrical equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and electrical inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Identify the root cause of electrical failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and coworkers.
• Complete service reports and job documentation.
• Follow NEC requirements, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.

• Active Maryland Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent license from a reciprocating state.
• 5+ years of commercial electrical service and troubleshooting experience.
• Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair commercial electrical systems.
• Experience working directly with customers in occupied commercial facilities.
• Experience servicing, repairing, and installing:
  • Three-phase electrical systems
  • Panelboards
  • Switchgear
  • Transformers
  • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting and lighting controls
  • Motor controls
  • Fire alarm systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC and electrical safety practices.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Generator systems
• Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
• Preventative maintenance programs
• Megger testing
• Infrared/Thermography
• Electrical testing and commissioning
• Power quality analysis
