This role leads front-of-house operations, supports back-of-house teams, maintains product quality, ensures exceptional customer service, and manages inventory, ordering, and cleanliness. The Bakery Manager works closely with ownership, the leadership team, and the kitchen team to support production needs, staffing, and overall business goals.Key Responsibilities:Operations & LeadershipOversee daily bakery operations with a primary focus on FOH workflow and service standards.Lead, train, and support the FOH team to ensure consistent performance and a positive work environment.Hold team members accountable for performance standards and conduct; administer corrective actions when necessary.Create weekly staff schedules and submit to the Director of Operations by the agreed deadline; adjust staffing levels based on business needs.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely, accurate completion.Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director of Operations to support bakery operations.Customer ExperienceEnsure all guests receive warm, efficient, and high-quality service.Maintain a welcoming, organized, and guest-focused FOH environment.Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently upheld throughout the bakery.Monitor product presentation, display cases, and restocking throughout the day.Foster strong customer relationships and support positive community engagement.Build strong customer relationships and support positive community engagement.Inventory & OrderingTrack inventory levels for packaging, supplies, retail items, and products.Place and manage vendor orders to maintain proper stock levels without excess waste.Oversee receiving, storage, and rotation of products (FIFO).Monitor waste and implement strategies to reduce loss.Upload vendor invoices to the system to ensure timely payment processing.Production & Quality ControlCoordinate daily production needs with the kitchen team.Monitor display stock and communicate product needs promptly to BOH.Ensure all products meet quality, freshness, and consistency standards.Support the kitchen team when needed, including packaging.Review and adjust par levels based on sales trends and seasonality.Ensure product information is accurately reflected on all platforms including in-store signage, website, and delivery platforms.Administrative OperationsEnsure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reflect current operational practices.Train staff on updated SOPs and ensure compliance with operational standards.Manage delivery and pick-up platforms to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment.Coordinate media, catering, or marketing-related pick-ups and tasks as needed.Communicate operational or procedural updates to relevant departments, including FOH, BOH, marketing, catering, and operations leadership.Participate in weekly operations meetings and report weekly updates, including staffing, inventory, sales trends, and operational challenges.Prepare shift reports, track key metrics, and submit weekly updates to leadership.Serve as the primary point of contact for the bakery's general email; ensure timely, professional, and accurate responses to inquiries, orders, and vendor communicationsStaff Management & HR SupportHire, train, and onboard new employees; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.Maintain clear and consistent communication between FOH and BOH teams.Support enforcement of company policies and procedures.Assist with onboarding paperwork, timekeeping, and attendance monitoring.Submit weekly payroll confirmations on Slack.Financial OversightMonitor daily sales, labor costs, and operational expenses.Assist with cash handling, POS oversight, and reconciliation procedures.Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service standards.Cleanliness & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.Maintain cleanliness of all FOH and BOH areas throughout service.Ensure proper equipment care and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.Requirements & QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in a bakery, café, or hospitality setting (barista experience preferred).Prior experience supervising a team (lead, supervisor, or manager role preferred).Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain immediately upon hire.Strong understanding of customer service, hospitality, and café workflow.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash-handling procedures required.Compensation: Salary ($75,000.00 - $85,000.00)Benefits & Perks: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off, 401k, Commuter Benefits, Dining DiscountsRequired Skills: Leadership, Team Management, Customer Relationship Management, Problem Solving, Time Management, Communication Skills, Organizational Skills, Attention to Detail
