Strasburg is home to an excellent school district and several businesses, medical clinics, and a post office. The Strasburg Fire Protection District is seeking a Fire Chief with a proven track record for exerting strong leadership and inspiring a culture of collaboration. The ideal candidate will establish high standards and hold people accountable while serving as a mentor and coach. The future Fire Chief will be open‑minded and possess a leadership style that fosters a culture of respect, prioritizing the mental, physical, and emotional well‑being of the team, and maintaining calm, decisive adaptability in the face of challenges. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree level of study in fire science, public administration, or a closely related field OR equivalent work experience. Minimum ten (10) years of experience in fire and emergency medical service with progressive supervisory experience, including at least two years of upper‑level public safety management in a paid position. Two years of relevant management or administrative experience are also required. The Fire Chief must maintain or establish a residence within a 20‑minute response time of the district's headquarters within six months of employment. A residence in the district is preferred.
