Div. Chief, Outdoor Programming Services Div. (Environmental Education Program Manager) (DCNR Only)

The Division Chief, Outdoor Programming Services Division role within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a chance for experienced employees to guide a statewide program that reaches every corner of our park system. This role allows you to use your leadership skills to shape education, interpretation, recreation, and information services that support the mission of the Bureau of State Parks. You will help set the direction for important initiatives while ensuring strong coordination across multiple work units. This position leads the Outdoor Programming Services Division by directing statewide education, interpretation, recreation, and information programs. As a Division Chief, you will perform the following duties: Program Leadership:Guide statewide program goals, priorities, and standards for education, interpretation, and recreation Operational Direction:Oversee work units and ensure activities align with common objectives Center Oversight:Supervise the bureau environmental education centers and support their ongoing operations Policy Development:Establish rules, regulations and procedures that support program effectiveness Program Evaluation:Review reports and analyze findings to adjust program direction when needed Budget Management:Prepare, oversee, and evaluate statewide program budget requirements Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as an environmental Education Program Specialist Supervisor; or A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, or parks and recreation; and six years of professional experience in the field of environmental education and interpretation, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that included two years of supervisory experience in the field of environmental education and interpretation. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
