About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Department License: Must possess a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred, ENPC, NRP, NIH Must-Have: Candidates must have completed 2-3 travel assignments. Candidates must have 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience. Description: The position is within a busy Emergency Department. There are 27 beds in the unit with a staff of 50 RNs and 25 medics. Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. Staff increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM and by 1-2 RNs at 3 PM. Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. The patient ratio is 4-6 patients per nurse. Typical patient care involves high acuity cases and a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be familiar with patient ratios of 5:1. Common procedures performed include RSI, Sepsis interventions, and Stroke protocol with tPA administration. Central line placement and care of psych patients are also typical tasks. Transfers to other facilities following EMTALA guidelines are required. The best personality fit for this role is relaxed, easy-going, friendly, and team-oriented. Candidates must be respectful and collaborative. Weekends will require four weekend shifts either Friday or Saturday for night shifts, or Saturday or Sunday for day shifts. There is no on-call requirement for this position.
