Material Handler - Shipping

Warehouse Forklift Operator

Responsibilities:

1. Reads work orders or follows instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
2. Can demonstrate the safe operation of a forklift.
3. Moves materials from storage or work site to designated area.
4. Stacks finished product neatly in warehouse with no damage and ensure good housekeeping practices as directed by the warehouse lead shippers.
5. Ensures that all forklift PM and battery change logs are filled out daily and that the equipment is in proper working condition.
6. Participates in the segregation and identification of non-conforming product.
7. Works with OH line person to ensure smooth flow of finished product.
8. Relieves personnel for breaks as required.
9. Covers opposite shift vacations.
10. Will load and or unload trailers.
11. Keeps informed of the latest OSHA and related safety procedures for the proper operating of the forklift.
12. Follows all known safety procedures for the safe handling of batteries during changes and charging.
13. Operates forklift to assist in loading materials and products.
14. Performs Line Clear to ensure all product has been scanned from production rows in the warehouse.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
16. Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.
17. Upholds Site and Corporate Environmental Policies by following all Environmental Policies, Procedures and Work Instruction

Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Use of hands and arms to perform job function
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth vision
