Occupational Medicine Physician PositionUAB St. Vincent's is looking for an Occupational Medicine trained physician for part time coverage at our Honda plant.This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with UAB St. Vincent's to provide medical services to patients.Position Highlights:Part time work with part time benefitsOpportunity to oversee APPs in Georgia Honda plant locationSmall community with wide range of specialty resources within hospital networkOpportunity to work at our Occupational Health Clinic in Birmingham if mutually agreed onResponsibilities:Occupational injury care with main focus on difficult injuries and workcomp claims.Fitness for Duty evaluationsEvaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.WorkComp claims management and oversight, not limited to causality statements, MMI/PPD, Collaboration with specialistsInternal collaboration with Safety, ERGO etc. at the spotRecommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.Fill in regular clinic duties on occasion with APP PTO, Sickness and Vacancies.Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.Licensure/Certification/Registration:Licensed Graduate Doctoral Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.Education:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.Additional Preferences:Experience working in Occupational medicine preferredAbout UAB St. Vincent's:UAB St. Vincent's, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
