Cardiac Step-Down RN

This is an 8-week contract position.

Night shifts: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required.

The Cardiac Step-Down RN will be responsible for providing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as dysrhythmias and heart blocks. The role includes pre-operative and post-operative care for cardiac surgeries, including TAVR and permanent pacemaker placements.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and medications within parameters.
• Perform EKGs and manage chest tubes.
• Ensure strict intake and output tracking.
• Insert and care for Foley catheters.
• Facilitate patient mobility using cardiac walkers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact License required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system required.
