Specialist-Pharmacist

Job Summary Improves patients' quality of life by providing comprehensive clinical services within my area of expertise to ensure optimal medication use and effective resource management, while considering pharmacoeconomic principles across the healthcare system. Works in collaboration with healthcare team members to accomplish goals. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Manage own pharmacy practice effectively. Contribute to goals, programs, and report cards for the unit/department/hospital. Participate in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes. Participate actively on inter- and intra-departmental committees. Supervise and direct healthcare team members. Provide education. Provide drug information. Participate in projects and studies to enhance professional knowledge and patient care. Manage medication orders, including age-specific considerations to ensure medication safety (e.g., processing, preparation, and dispensing). Process and prepare sterile products for dispensing. Complete assigned goals. Education Minimum Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Preferred/Desired: Post‑graduate education in health-system pharmacy services. Training Minimum Required: PGY‑1 Pharmacy Residency and/or equivalent clinical experience of three years. Preferred/Desired: PGY‑2 Pharmacy Residency and/or Pharmacy Board Certification, BLS and ACLS certifications, and/or equivalent experience of greater than three years. Special Skills Computer literacy, interpersonal skills, general clinical awareness. Advanced communication skills and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. High‑level cognitive ability to interpret and assess written medication orders to ensure optimal medication use. Teaching skills and qualified to precept residents, students, interns, and externs. Membership with state and/or national hospital pharmacy associations. Licensure Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure for appropriate state or eligibility for licensure.
