Employment Status: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Facility: 213 S Jefferson St - Roanoke Requisition Number: R160295 Compliance Specialist (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare: The Compliance Specialist implements strategies to reduce risk, provides compliance guidance, and responds to concerns. Conducts research on general compliance topics and provides guidance to general compliance questions. Prepares compliance education and awareness activities. Conducts investigations, with guidance, into general compliance concerns. Monitors and, with guidance, audits operational areas to identify and resolve compliance risk. Reviews policies, procedures, and initiatives with compliance implications. Monitors action plans that resolve compliance concerns. Collaborates and maintains relationships in a variety of organizational settings. Assesses how compliance topics affect operational processes throughout Carilion Clinic. Implements processes and perform duties necessary to conform to requirements of Carilion Clinic, as well as federal and state laws and regulations. The Specialist must be knowledgeable of organizational and compliance concepts in general. Completes independent tasks, with guidance, and as a team member in a broad range of activities. Communicates throughout the organization on a wide range of matters impacting compliance. Requires extensive use of personal computers. Requires occasional travel to remote sites. What We Require: Education: Bachelor’s degree; four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Experience: Direct or indirect compliance experience preferred. Healthcare experience preferred. Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Certification as a Compliance Healthcare Specialist through HCCA, or similar compliance certification, is preferred. Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to research. Ability to learn and conceptualize new information. Ability to explain compliance topics to varied stakeholder groups, both in person and collaboratively. Critical thinking to assess the presence of compliance risk. Problem solving to resolve compliance needs with existing or proposed organizational initiatives. Excellent oral communication skills. Excellent written communication skills. Attention to detail is needed to provide appropriate guidance and investigate concerns. Skilled in use of personal computers to aid productivity and enhance output. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple planned and unplanned tasks on an ongoing basis. Compensation Range: $57,616.00 - $86,424.00 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
