Diesel Mechanic

Jenkins Ford / Lincoln of Crystal River is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic (ASE Certified a plus!) to join our growing team.

We will be selecting a few candidates for telephone and/or in-person interviews. Requires: Clean driving record and ability to pass drug test and background checks. Compensation: depends on experience - full-time plus benefits.

Summary

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles as assigned by the Service Manager. In addition, this person may also be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order upon delivery to the customer. The ideal Auto Diesel Mechanic has an unrestricted driver's license, clean driving record, a minimum of one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, post-secondary automotive training, is ASE certified (or is willing to obtain certification), and has a strong technical performance record.

• Expertly diagnose issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing
• Maintain leading-edge knowledge of automotive diagnosis technology, digital manuals, and reference materials
• Possess an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact
• Perform routine service inspections, test, and lubricate engines and other major components
• Repair automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels, such as ethanol
• Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry, as well as in the diagnostics arena
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Walking: Moving about on foot
• Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 50-75 lbs.
• Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder

• Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors
• Field of Vision: Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
