National Accounts Manager (Non-Commercial)

Role Overview Smithfield Foods is seeking a National Accounts Manager to drive growth and innovation within our processed and fresh pork categories. The role focuses on building and maintaining key customer relationships, executing sales initiatives, and collaborating across functions to achieve business results. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for national corporate accounts, aligning goals with customer objectives. Lead and support a network of sales professionals, Divisional Directors, Regional Managers, and broker partners. Collaborate with Business Management, Marketing, Finance, and Operations on pricing, forecasting, innovation, and logistics. Create and manage category management strategies, including product mix optimization and SKU rationalization. Build programs that boost sales of key items and foster long‑term growth with top‑tier customers. Maintain and expand non‑commercial accounts, developing broker relationships and ensuring flawless execution of sales initiatives in retail and foodservice. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university and 8+ years of relevant experience in retail or foodservice meat trade (or equivalent education and experience). 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management, development, or project leadership. Strong understanding of the food business industry or retail channels. Proven customer‑focused and data‑driven selling skills, with experience using IRI, Nielsen, and Perishable Group data. Excellent critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and collaborate across functions. Existing contacts with national non‑commercial accounts (stand‑out skill). Knowledge of product cuttings and product attributes (stand‑out skill). Experience with SAP (stand‑out skill). Physical Demands & Work Environment Capable of sitting for extended periods; occasional lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms required. Must have close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision. May need to travel 50% of the time. Salary Range $96,000 – $144,000. Relocation package available.
