Travel Speech Language Pathologist Location Facility in San Leandro, California Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13‑week travel assignment in San Leandro, California. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders and developing individualized therapy plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive‑communication abilities. Responsibilities Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. Design and implement personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology. Experience in Speech Language Pathology; new graduates are welcome. Other certifications or licenses as required. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical & Other Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Must work effectively with personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Must have fine manipulation and motor skills when assisting with procedures and equipment. Must handle frequent contact with general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision when needed, and maintain concentration on details.
