Job Description
Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT)

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic pediatric environment, providing essential support to young patients and their families.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic activities of daily living (ADLs), including transfers, bathing, turning, and personal hygiene.
• Perform routine medical tasks such as cleaning, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Support pediatric patients with various diagnoses, including TBI, SCI, spina bifida, and cerebral palsy.
• Experience working with tracheostomies, G-tubes, NG tubes, and in managing feeding and rehabilitation for post-surgical orthopedic patients.
• Utilize special equipment including Hoyer lifts and sit-to-stand machines where necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care and pediatric experience required.
• Active Maryland CNA license is mandatory.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Ability to float across specialty units as needed.

Work Schedule

The position requires working three 12-hour shifts per week during the day, with a schedule including weekends every other week and holiday availability as needed.

Patient Care Environment

The daily census averages between 12 to 14 patients with a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Candidates should be prepared to provide care for a diverse pediatric age range.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tracheostomies, G-tubes, and NG tubes.
• Proficient in handling patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other complex medical conditions.
• Knowledge of orthotics and splint usage.
