Lead IoT Edge Architect (m/w/d)

Job Title

Definition of architectural principles, technical standards, and target images for scalable, secure, and maintainable IoT and edge systems

Responsibility for the end-to-end architecture of edge and gateway solutions: from connected devices to edge components and cloud integration

Evaluation of technical solution options and informed architectural decisions taking into account scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness

Technical coordination of the integration of gateways, embedded devices, communication protocols, and cloud services

Accompaniment and evaluation of architectural concepts, implementations, and solution contributions from internal and external service providers

Ensuring compliance with architectural specifications, security requirements, and quality standards in implementation

Conception of device lifecycle management, OTA update, rollout, recovery, and operational strategies for networked device fleets

Consultation of product managers, development teams, and external partners on technology issues

Actively driving innovations and participating in the building of high-performance teams

What You Bring With You

Several years of practical experience in the architecture and implementation of IoT, edge, and cloud systems

Very good knowledge of software architecture as well as the design of distributed systems

In-depth experience with Azure IoT Edge Runtime and Azure IoT Hub: especially in deployment, modules, monitoring, device twins, routing as well as D2C and C2D communication patterns

Very good knowledge of.NET / C# and/or Python in cloud and edge environments

Strong Linux knowledge in embedded and gateway environments, ideally with Yocto-like systems

Profound understanding of security by design in the IoT/edge context

Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and ideally Azure DevOps

Good practical knowledge of common communication protocols such as MQTT and AMQP

Experience with end-to-end testing, preferably with Python

Ability to translate complex problems into clear and viable architectural decisions

Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working method combined with high implementation strength

Excellent communication and moderation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Quick comprehension, pragmatic approach, and a very good understanding of modern cybersecurity approaches
