Behavioral Health RN

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) on the night shift provides specialized nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care. The RN is expected to perform duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication and teamwork. This position requires at least one year of relevant experience and adherence to performance expectations. Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and monitor behavioral health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient progress and communicate changes in condition promptly.
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed during night shifts.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in ongoing education and training relevant to behavioral health nursing.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing settings.
• Advanced certifications in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
• Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Special Considerations:

• Night shift position with expectations to meet Low/Mid/High performer standards.
• Contract termination may occur immediately if performance expectations are not met.
• Work environment involves care of patients with behavioral health challenges.

• Night shift schedule.
• Shift assignments determined by facility staffing needs and policies.
