Senior ServiceNow Architect (Raritan, NJ) Role Purpose Serve as the primary ServiceNow Platform Architect for a designated process domain (e.g., HSRD, Source2Pay, LSD). Own design, delivery, sustainability, and operational readiness of scalable, secure solutions on Johnson & Johnson’s enterprise ServiceNow platform. Core Accountabilities Platform Architecture & Delivery: Own end-to-end architecture/configuration decisions; translate business needs into scalable solutions aligned to enterprise standards and long-term strategy; use configuration-first; create architecture diagrams/design docs/acceptance criteria; participate in design reviews/sprint ceremonies. Platform Engineering & Code Quality: Implement server-side logic (Business Rules, Script Includes) emphasizing reuse/encapsulation/testability; author/maintain performant code and automated tests; enforce patterns that protect upgradeability and minimize technical debt. Security, Access & Governance: Design/maintain ACLs and least-privilege access models; consider performance/audit readiness/separation of duties; partner with security/compliance for regulatory/internal requirements. Upgrade Readiness & Sustainability: Refactor/remove custom logic that conflicts with out-of-box/upgrade paths; support upgrade planning/testing/remediation and mitigate risky customizations. Domain Expertise & Collaboration: Serve as SME; support backlog refinement, complex incidents, and architectural guidance; collaborate with domain leads/stakeholders (including GenAI initiatives); mentor/coaching. Required Experience & Skills 7+ years hands‑on ServiceNow platform architecture/design/implementation on large-scale enterprise platforms. Experience designing Business Rules, Script Includes, and ACLs in a governed environment. Practical knowledge of at least one ServiceNow process area (e.g., HSRD, Source2Pay, LSD). Demonstrated technical judgment balancing performance, security, maintainability, and upgrade impact. Excellent written/verbal communication; discuss real‑world examples. Strongly Preferred 2+ current ServiceNow certifications (CIS‑ITSM/CMDB/ITOM, CAD, CSA). Experience planning/executing major ServiceNow upgrades and remediating customization‑related upgrade issues. Interview Expectations Present 2–3 designed ServiceNow solutions with problem, architecture, tradeoffs, security/ACLs, and upgradeability.
