Position: RN - Emergency Room

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Targeted Start Date: 11/16 or 11/30

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and be certified in ACLS, BLS, CPI (or willing to obtain prior to start), NIHSS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency department
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • CPI (in hand or willing to obtain before start)
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
• Weekend Availability: Every other weekend (EOW/EOH)
• Floating may be required within the scope of training
• No on-call requirement

Skills Required

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• Abdominal pain assessment
• Acute psychosis management
• Arterial line and central line management
• Chest tube insertion/management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Drug overdose response
• EKG interpretation
• Intubation and sedation administration
• Trauma level I and II experience (preferred)
• Pediatric emergency department experience (preferred)

Facility Overview

Location: City, State

Patient Demographics: Neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics

Daily Census: Approximately 80 patients

Additional Information

• Flu vaccinations are mandatory; no exemptions accepted
• Travelers must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam on-site
• Attendance policy: Up to three absences allowed per 13-week contract
• Modules must be completed during the first week of orientation
