As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic and growing community of Plano, your efforts will extend far beyond addressing the nuances of speech and swallowing disorders. You will unleash potential, rebuild confidence, and create lasting connections with individuals from all walks of life from young children finding their voice to older adults reestablishing their independence and dignity.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity to work with a diverse age range in a facility that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient services. Deliver personal speech therapy interventions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and the intricacies of swallowing.
Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to implement comprehensive care approaches.
Educate patients and their families to foster progress outside of therapy sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuity of care throughout every step of treatment.
Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Commit to ongoing professional development and stay apprised of the latest advances in speech pathology through continual education and interaction with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if currently not ASHA-certified.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preference for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for a diverse population, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
Exceptional communication skills to connect effectively with patients, their families, and fellow team members.
Adaptability in utilizing therapy techniques that respect and respond to a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Critical thinking and clinical judgement paired with problem-solving skills that can lead to innovative therapeutic solutions.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
A competitive salary reflective of experience and expertise.
Flexible scheduling options that promote a healthy work-life balance while managing diverse patient caseloads.
Paths to specialization in pediatric care, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay perks.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
Support for continuing education and opportunities for ongoing professional growth.
A welcoming, collaborative work environment focused on enhancing care quality and facilitating lifelong learning.
In this role, you won't simply provide patients with speech therapy; you'll become an integral part of a mission that believes in the power of communication to change lives. Whether it involves helping individuals reclaim their voices or fostering connections within the community, your work will ripple beyond the clinic.
Amidst this collaborative backdrop, you'll find a team that treats each other like family. Each patient has a unique story, and you will play a vital role in how that narrative unfolds.
