Quality "Plus" Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support our work on the Micron semiconductor project in Boise, Idaho.

This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated construction professional to join a growing project team and develop into a Project Manager role within 6-12 months. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with project leadership to support project controls, cost management, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, document control, commissioning support, and field operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, experience supporting complex construction projects, and a desire to grow into a long-term leadership role within Quality "Plus" Services.

Project Overview

Quality "Plus" Services has been awarded a $10 million electrical instrumentation and low-voltage power scope supporting equipment installation, base-build construction activities, and commissioning/startup efforts on the Micron semiconductor campus.

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with the Project Manager and collaborate closely with field supervision, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Project Highlights

• Greenfield semiconductor facility.
• Electrical instrumentation and low-voltage power scope.
• Equipment installation, base-build support, and commissioning/startup activities.
• Approximately 75% self-performed work and 25% subcontracted work.
• Support of approximately 20 field personnel and multiple subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Project Controls & Administration

• Develop, submit, and track project submittals.
• Generate, manage, and close out RFIs.
• Distribute current drawings, specifications, and project updates to field teams.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Track permits, utility requests, and project correspondence.
• Assist with Site Incident Prevention Plans (SIPP) and project compliance documentation.
• Ensure field leadership has the latest project schedules, specifications, RFIs, and drawings.

Cost Management & Change Orders

• Track labor, equipment, and material costs.
• Identify and communicate potential cost impacts.
• Assist with project budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Support estimating and pricing of change orders and additional work.
• Perform field verifications to support proposal development.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing requests.
• Assist with project buyout and procurement activities.

Schedule & Production Tracking

• Monitor project schedules and milestone dates.
• Identify schedule impacts and communicate associated risks.
• Track field productivity and production performance.
• Coordinate activities between field operations and subcontractors.
• Assist in manpower planning and resource tracking.

Field & Subcontractor Coordination

• Support one Project Manager, one Superintendent, and multiple Foremen.
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in daily and weekly field walks to monitor progress and identify impacts.
• Assist with commissioning and startup planning efforts.
• Support onboarding and orientation of project personnel.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote Quality "Plus" Services' safety culture and expectations.
• Coordinate with EHS representatives and project safety personnel.
• Assist with site-specific safety planning and documentation.
• Support implementation of client and contractor requirements.
• Participate in regular safety meetings and project reviews.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, assistant project management, or related roles.
• Understanding of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and project workflows.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, document control, and project correspondence.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to access active construction sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Construction Project Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience supporting industrial, electrical, semiconductor, manufacturing, mission-critical, or data center construction projects.

Semiconductor experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from industrial construction, electrical contracting, manufacturing facilities, cleanroom environments, power generation, mission-critical projects, and data center construction will be given strong consideration.
