Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Patient assessment skills - Patient and family centered care - Development and implementation of a plan of care - Clinical interventions knowledge - Patient and family education experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The focus is on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and revises it as indicated. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients/families. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor. The RN demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork while identifying opportunities for improvement.
