Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, optimization, and performance improvement of SmartGrid networks. This role is responsible for evaluating and approving new network designs, optimizing existing networks, analyzing network performance data, and troubleshooting radio frequency (RF) interference issues.

Job Description

• Evaluate, review, and approve new SmartGrid network designs and modifications to existing networks.
• Redesign and optimize deployed networks to address performance issues and increased capacity demands resulting from growing network data loads.
  
• Analyze network statistics, drive-test data, and performance metrics to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Utilize RF propagation and network planning tools to develop, assess, and optimize network designs.
  
• Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot RF interference issues in collaboration with field engineers.
  
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to assess the network impact of new features and update design methodologies as needed.
  
• Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements to reliability, coverage, capacity, and overall efficiency.
  
• Apply sound engineering judgment and data-driven decision-making to resolve technical challenges.
  
• Manage assigned projects and contribute to larger engineering initiatives with minimal supervision.
  
• Adapt to evolving business requirements, technologies, and network design standards.
  
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Shift: 8am-5pm EST

Skills Required

• A minimum of 5–10 years of experience designing SmartGrid or cellular networks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of several of the following network platforms and technologies: SmartGrid networks, Slotted Aloha networks, Contention-based networks, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM)
• Proficiency with RF planning and analysis tools, including: Planet RF propagation tool, MapInfo, Google Earth
• Proficiency in SQL and Aqua Data Studio.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information.
• Ability to work independently with general guidance and minimal managerial support.
• Strong organizational, project planning, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in AI programming or artificial intelligence-related technologies.
• Experience evaluating the network impact of new features and evolving network requirements.
• Experience collaborating with field engineers to resolve network performance and interference issues.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Pay Rate

• $40 - $50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
