Associate Therapist (AMFT, ASW, APCC)

Job Title: Associate Therapist – Teen Residential Program Location: Sonoma, CA Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience) Schedule: Full-time; Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pm (1 weekend day) Job Overview As an Associate Therapist in a residential program for teens (12–17), you will provide individual therapy, family sessions, and daily group therapy within a structured milieu while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. This immersive training environment includes high-acuity clients, crisis work, and consistent supervision to accelerate licensure. Responsibilities Facilitate multiple therapy groups per week using DBT, CBT, ACT, and trauma‑focused modalities. Provide individual and family therapy sessions. Engage in milieu work to build rapport, model interventions, and shape treatment in real time. Conduct biopsychosocial and risk assessments to inform individualized treatment plans. Collaborate in daily and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in a timely manner. Participate in rotating on‑call schedule and provide crisis support as needed. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or MFT. Active California associate license (AMFT, ASW, or APCC). Experience facilitating therapeutic groups (practicum, internship, or post‑grad settings accepted). Comfortable working with adolescents in mental‑health, substance‑use, or high‑acuity settings. Grounding in trauma‑informed care and at least one evidence‑based modality (DBT, CBT, ACT, etc.). Preferred (Not Required) Experience in residential, inpatient, or intensive outpatient (IOP/PHP) settings. Training in EMDR, motivational interviewing, or relapse prevention.
