Assistant Store Manager Operations & Training | Smoothie King

We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Assistant Store Manager Operations & Training who enjoys working with people, developing Team Members, staying organized, and jumping into the operation wherever needed. This is not a desk-management position. You'll work alongside the team taking orders, making smoothies and food, completing prep, helping guests, opening and closing the store, and keeping the operation running smoothly. You'll also take on additional responsibility for Team Member training, inventory processes, catering preparation and deliveries, and operational execution. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Shift Lead, Team Captain, restaurant trainer, or strong restaurant/retail employee who is ready for the next step in leadership without moving into a traditional General Manager role.

As an Assistant Store Manager Operations & Training, you'll help support consistent day-to-day store execution while working alongside the team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Serve as a Store Trainer for new and existing Team Members
• Help onboard and train Team Members on recipes, POS, guest service, food preparation, food safety, cleaning, prep, stocking, and store procedures
• Work hands-on in normal store positions, including taking orders, making smoothies and food, completing prep, stocking, and cleaning
• Support store opening and closing procedures
• Assist with cash-handling procedures and required operational logs
• Assist with weekly inventory counts, receiving deliveries, product organization, FIFO, waste control, and inventory accuracy
• Monitor product levels and communicate ordering needs or shortages
• Maintain organized cooler, freezer, and dry-storage areas
• Help reinforce Smoothie King recipes, portioning, food safety, cleanliness, and brand standards
• Support sales initiatives including Enhancers & Extras, smoothie upsizing, and food attachment
• Help prepare, organize, stage, and fulfill catering orders
• Make local catering deliveries when assigned
• Support off-premise events and other catering activities as needed
• Provide exceptional guest service and help resolve routine guest concerns
• Identify operational or training issues and communicate them to the General Manager
• Model reliability, urgency, teamwork, professionalism, and a positive guest-first attitude

Our Assistant Store Manager is an operational leadership position. You will help train Team Members, provide task direction, reinforce procedures, and help the store operate successfully. However, this position does not have direct reports or independent hiring, firing, compensation, promotion, or formal disciplinary authority. Those responsibilities remain with the General Manager and Ownership. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example and working alongside the team.

The strongest candidates will have:

• Restaurant, QSR, retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience
• Previous experience as a Shift Lead, Team Captain, Trainer, Assistant Manager, or similar role preferred
• Strong reliability and attendance
• Ability to train and explain procedures clearly to others
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfort working with inventory and basic operational systems
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work hands-on alongside Team Members
• Ability to open and/or close the store as scheduled
• Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends
• Basic computer and POS knowledge
• Valid driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance for catering deliveries
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain required certification

This is an active restaurant position. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand for extended periods during assigned shifts
• Frequently bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive tasks
• Work in refrigerated and freezer environments
• Safely lift and move products and supplies weighing up to 75 lbs., using available assistance when appropriate
• Work around common food allergens
• Safely transport catering products and supplies when assigned
