About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead its enterprise-wide risk management strategy and governance framework. The CRO will be responsible for establishing the company's risk appetite, ensuring effective risk management practices, and serving as the primary risk advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical risk foundation, deep understanding of enterprise risk management, and excellent financial knowledge, particularly in the economic, actuarial, and accounting aspects of insurance and annuity products. The CRO will also be involved in committee leadership, board reporting, and will champion a culture of ethics, transparency, and accountability across the risk function and the broader organization. Applicants for the CRO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree and risk-related credentials being preferred. A minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in financial services, particularly in life insurance and annuity, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of interacting with and reporting to a Board of Directors, strong leadership and change-management abilities, and a background in strategic risk leadership and enterprise oversight. The role demands a professional with outstanding communication skills, the ability to influence across organizational boundaries, and a commitment to the responsible use of data analytics and AI in enhancing the risk function. The CRO will also be responsible for talent development and organizational leadership within the risk management team.
