Workers' Compensation Senior Risk Management Consultant - Eastern Alliance

Senior Risk Management Consultant – evaluate loss potential for current and prospective Workers’ Compensation insurance customers. This position supports the Workers’ Compensation line of business for Eastern Alliance, based in Central Pennsylvania and covering the territory of Harrisburg, State College, and Williamsport. The role may be considered for a Risk Management Consultant based on candidate qualifications. Responsibilities (50%) Develop and execute service plans to reduce policyholder loss exposure, improve company profitability, and aid client retention by thoroughly evaluating a client’s facilities and needs; cultivate and develop high‑quality company‑client relationships by visiting and communicating with clients and agents on a regular basis. (15%) Prescreen selected new business submissions, including site visits and inspections; communicate via verbal and written processes to Underwriting to aid in risk selection in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. Define and communicate client needs and expectations through the prescreen process. (10%) Independently prioritize, execute and document risk management activities for an assigned book of business, including reviewing files and loss information, conducting hazard assessment surveys, organizing service calls, prospect surveys and agency visits. Manage the book and programs proactively, monitoring results and developing relationships with underwriting, claims, finance and other stakeholders. Include traditional, Inova® and Specialty Risk accounts under established guidelines. (5%) Serve as Lead Consultant or Program Manager for assigned Alternative Market Programs; ensure that risk‑management service commitments are met and services correlate to fee income for Alternative Market customers by coordinating overall account servicing to the appropriate program(s). (10%) Manage return‑to‑wellness initiatives, collaborating with agents, clients, claims, and underwriters to promote ecovery® strategies and ensure proper return‑to‑work guidelines are established, followed and achieved. (5%) Research operations and hazards of risks to provide effective consultative services; develop and share resources and support materials with colleagues. (2%) Identify catastrophic loss exposures, follow up with appropriate actions and communications, conduct accident investigations and follow up with lessons learned. (2%) Maintain knowledge of appropriate standards and best practices; attend courses and functions to develop job knowledge, maintain certifications; mentor and support the development of less experienced staff. (1%) Attend and/or participate in monthly team account review meetings prepared to discuss adverse accounts, solutions for handling these accounts and other relevant topics. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in occupational safety or a related field, with seven years of progressive occupational safety and health experience. Prior transferrable knowledge and skills or insurance industry experience required. Advanced degree and/or professional designation/certification (CSP and/or ARM) preferred. Must meet any state provider qualifications for assigned territories. Ability to attend insurance and industry/business functions to promote and present a positive image of the Company. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to analyze and interpret information and make profitable decisions about risks. Attention to detail in processing information, establishing priorities, and expense management. Ability to assess urgency and importance of situations and take appropriate action. Exposure to various manufacturing, industry and business environments where personal protective equipment requirements may apply. Ability to inspect various types of risks and independently evaluate them according to company standards. Effective verbal, written, virtual and in-person presentation skills with a range of constituencies and at all levels in the organization. Commitment to ongoing professional development to provide competent and relevant consulting advice. Self‑driven to accept new responsibilities and work collaboratively or independently to help develop solutions for operational needs. Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk long distances over uneven terrain, and reach remote areas during visits to all types of operations. Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Compensation Position Salary Range: $76,208.00 – $125,756.00. #J-18808-Ljbffr
