Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift, 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role requires an evaluation of patients and the recommendation of treatment plans, along with education for patients upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Administer physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment, both invasive and non-invasive.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and promote secretion clearance using specialized equipment.
• Perform suctioning by various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Conduct routine reviews of patients' chest x-rays and pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures, including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including the insertion and removal of tubes.
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses in records and charts.
• Communicate efficiently with attending and pulmonary physicians about the efficacy of therapy.
• Ensure proper functioning of all respiratory equipment through maintenance and self-testing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Valid Respiratory Therapy license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in pulmonary function testing and ventilator management preferred.
