Make a difference as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting students in special education settings for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract role is perfect for those passionate about helping students of varying abilities reach their potential. Opportunities are available at elementary, middle, high school, and potentially adult transition levels. Applicants may specify their preferred caseload, allowing you to match your experience and enthusiasm with the right age group.
This position is set in an all-special-education campus, requiring motivation, compassion, and comfort in working with higher-needs students. Your impact will be felt every day as you work in collaboration with teachers and specialized staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school-based support role preferred
- Ability to work with students who have higher support needs in a special education setting
- Flexibility to work across age groups (elementary, middle, high school, or adult transition)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment
- Valid Pennsylvania state clearances (up-to-date for school employment)
- Reliable commuting ability for on-site work at the designated location
- Availability for an on-site interview
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in providing individualized academic and behavioral support
- Help implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Supervise students in classroom, small-group, and non-instructional settings
- Promote student independence and encourage positive behaviors
- Document progress and communicate effectively with team members
