Job Summary Provide clinical services according to radiology practice standards to ensure optimal department functions. Demonstrate skills and knowledge in use of all X‑ray equipment and performance of all X‑ray protocols and procedures. Produce high‑quality exams within the appropriate time for each procedure. Familiar with PACS and review scans with radiologists for important anatomic details and abnormalities. Confirm patient identity, body part, and side before each procedure. Administer sound patient‑care practices per department and hospital policies to ensure patient safety. Key Responsibilities Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent. Explain procedures to patients/families, answer questions, and reduce anxiety to ensure cooperation. Recognize clinical or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action. Respond to and follow up on critical test findings. Acquire and evaluate patient lab values (e.g., BUN, CR, pregnancy, glucose) when applicable. Inspect the suite, equipment, and accessories daily for hazards and report dangerous conditions. Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Manage supplies, check stock levels, and maintain linens and cleaning materials. Participate in quality‑control and performance‑improvement programs and follow up on deficiencies. Practice aseptic technique, wash hands before and after patient contact, and adhere to body‑substance isolation policies. Wear film badge while on duty and follow departmental badge‑results procedures. Record requisition information accurately and legibly; perform routine clerical duties as assigned. Input and verify all data in PACS/RADIANT. Qualifications Associate’s degree from an accredited institution or two‑year certification program in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent training, including U.S. Armed Forces). American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) active license or temporary permit issued by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE). Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Good technical proficiency and ability to work nights (shift: night).
