Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Daycare Director to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our childcare center. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children while ensuring full compliance with state licensing regulations. You will be responsible for managing staff, fostering strong relationships with parents, and overseeing the center's administrative and financial health.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year (depending on experience).

• Job Type: Full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the center, ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient environment for children, staff, and families.

• Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise teachers and support staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development.

• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) licensing standards and health/safety regulations.

• Curriculum Oversight: Ensure the educational programs are developmentally appropriate and meet the center's standards for quality early childhood education.

• Parent Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents through regular communication, meetings, and resolving any concerns promptly.

• Financial Management: Manage the center’s budget, oversee tuition billing/collection, and maintain enrollment targets.

• Facility Maintenance: Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).

• Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a leadership or administrative role within a licensed childcare setting.

• Licensing: Must meet all state requirements for a Child Care Center Director in the state of Illinois.

• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in center management software is a plus.

• Background Check: Must pass all required background checks, including fingerprinting and medical clearances.

• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
