Manager of Security & Information Technology

Description: Position Overview The Driskill, an iconic luxury hotel and member of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, is seeking a Manager of Information Technology and Security to lead two essential hotel functions through one integrated operating model. As the department head, this position is accountable for the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and hotel assets, as well as the availability, resilience, and secure operation of the technology that supports the guest and colleague experience. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager serves as a visible member of the hotel leadership team and partners with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance, Hyatt corporate support teams, ownership representatives, vendors, and public safety agencies. The role leads security operations, emergency preparedness, investigations, risk management, cybersecurity awareness, infrastructure, telecommunications, property systems, and technology service delivery in accordance with Hyatt policies and standards, applicable law, and the hotel’s service culture. Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Department Leadership: Lead the Information Technology and Security department, establish priorities and service expectations, allocate resources, and maintain accountability for results across both disciplines.
• Safety and Security: Direct day-to-day security operations; maintain security procedures, post orders, access control, key control, CCTV, intrusion detection, life safety coordination, and incident documentation.
• Emergency Preparedness and Risk: Own emergency response planning, business continuity and disaster recovery readiness, fire and life safety coordination, crisis communication support, and risk mitigation initiatives. Serve as a senior leader during emergencies and other critical incidents.
• Investigations and Incident Response: Oversee and document investigations involving security, safety, guest concerns, colleague matters, theft, fraud, workplace incidents, property damage, or liability, in partnership with Human Resources, hotel leadership, and appropriate authorities.
• Information Technology Operations: Oversee reliable and secure operation of the hotel network, telecommunications, internet services, property management and point-of-sale systems, guestroom and in-room technology, key systems, digital guest technologies, and other operational technology platforms.
• Cybersecurity and Compliance: Promote cybersecurity awareness, access governance, data protection, patching and vulnerability practices, technology controls, and compliance with Hyatt requirements and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Financial and Vendor Management: Lead departmental budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, procurement, inventory control, vendor performance, service-level expectations, and contract administration.
• People Leadership: Recruit, onboard, coach, schedule, and develop colleagues; set clear performance expectations; and foster a culture of professionalism, service, inclusion, safety, and accountability.
• Continuous Improvement: Use incident trends, compliance results, guest and colleague feedback, service metrics, and system performance data to identify improvements and measure their effectiveness.
• Partnerships and Communication: Maintain effective working relationships with Hyatt technology and security resources, hotel leadership, ownership representatives, contractors, vendors, and local emergency response agencies.

Leadership Scope

• Acts as the hotel’s accountable leader for the combined Information Technology and Security function, with authority to establish operating procedures and recommend priorities, staffing, and investments.
• Maintains visibility with hotel leadership and provides concise reporting on incidents, risks, compliance, project status, vendor performance, and technology availability.
• Balances guest service, operational continuity, safety, security, privacy, and financial stewardship when making decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Security Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Hospitality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least five years of progressive experience in hotel operations, information technology, security, risk management, or a closely related environment, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Hospitality experience strongly preferred, particularly in a full-service or luxury hotel, resort, or similarly complex operating environment.
• Working knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, access control, CCTV, emergency management, fire and life safety, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, vendors, capital projects, technology or security systems, and cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to lead calmly and decisively during emergencies, investigations, service interruptions, and other high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, judgment, problem-solving, documentation, and guest-service skills.
• Relevant certifications preferred, such as CPP, PSP, CISM, CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, CPR/First Aid/AED, or equivalent credentials.
• This is a hotel leadership role requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.
• Must be available to respond to operational emergencies, critical incidents, technology outages, and security matters as needed.
• The role requires regular movement throughout the property and the ability to work in office, guest-facing, operational, and incident-response environments.
